Suppression Systems and Fire Extinguishers

Humans are the best fire detection systems.  Our senses allow us to detect a fire before it gets out of control.  But without the proper equipment, there is little we can do.  That is why it is important to have proper fire suppression and extinguishing equipment installed.

Portable fire extinguishers need to be correctly sized and spaced for the specific hazard or application.  Different sources of fire require different types of extinguishers.  But having the correct extinguisher is meaningless unless it works when you need it.  That is why fire codes require the extinguisher be inspected and serviced on regular intervals.

We carry multiple fire extinguisher types to fit most any application.  Common types are ABC , BC and  Class K (for kitchens).  Specialize application types are Water, CO2, Halon, and Class D. Sizes range from 2 ½ pounds up to 300 pounds.  Some of the brands we inspect and service are:

  • Amerex
  • Ansul
  • Badger
  • Buckeye
  • Fireboy
  • Kidde
  • Pyro-Chem

A properly installed kitchen hood along with an engineered suppression system is designed to contain and extinguish cooking fires before they spread to the rest of the kitchen and on to the building.  Due to the extremely high importance that these systems operate when needed, fire codes require they be inspected every 6 months.  Regular inspections and service help insure these systems work when you need them and keep a small incident from shutting down your business.

We install, inspect, and service most suppression systems, including:

  • Ansul
  • Pyro-Chem
  • Kiddie
  • Amerex

The services we offer on fire extinguishers and kitchen hood suppression systems are:

  • Annual and Semi-Annual Inspections
  • 6 year Inspections and Hydrotesting
  • Kitchen Hood Installations and Repair
  • System Integration with Fire Alarm and Appliance Shutdown.
